The ninth edition of PArC, Perú Arte Contemporáneo, has a confirmed date to represent Pinta in Peru. Integrated into the Pinta universe, the most relevant international art fair in Peru is characterized by an ambitious experimental program and a selection of galleries with diverse and contemporary proposals.

The PArC fair, which stands among the most relevant cultural exchange platforms in the region, will take place between April 20^th and 24^th, 2022 at Casa Prado, Lima

One of the key works of the 34th São Paulo Biennial literally anchors the robust and uncomfortable presence between the interstitial areas of this modernist building, so questioned today. However, its meanings go beyond the perimeters of the construction and extend to, for example, some of the civic sculptures that populate public places throughout Brazil and that are also located in the surroundings.

With the curatorship of Oscar Roldán and Luis Fumero, the Solo Projects section acquires a stronger protagonism this year. The section is dedicated to gallery exhibitions that consist of works by a selected artist; the perfect opportunity for visitors to relate more profoundly and personally with the artists.

This year, in its 15^th anniversary and after highly transformative events, Pinta ventures into a new concept. New formats, new location and many other exciting ingredients will make up Pinta 2021.

In order to promote the commercial and artistic opening of the country at an international level, the Ministry of Foreign Relations, International Trade and Culture of the Argentine Republic, the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in Miami, together with Arte al Día International and Pinta held an open call for Argentine emerging artists for an international online exhibition. The arteba Foundation turned 30 years old and celebrated it with a face-to-face fair at Arenas Studios, La Boca neighborhood. arteba 2021 created a space where artists, gallery owners, collectors, curators, cultural references and a massive public converged on the southern part of the City of Buenos Aires.

“Moving with great fluidity between spirituality, the production of visuality, academic reflection and political action, Heráclito is explicit when he says that he wants to ‘act, in a symbolic way, on the devastating consequences of racism and social inequality that affect the black populations'." In this way, the curator and researcher Solange Farkas (Videobrasil and ex-MAM Bahía) summarizes the approach to the production of Ayrson Heráclito, a Bahian artist who won a retrospective at the MAR (Museu de Arte do Rio) and who had an important recent solo show at the Simões de Assis Gallery, in São Paulo.

Curated by Isabella Lenzi, and running until November 20^th, Só é possível se formos 2 [It is only possible if there are 2 of us] is exhibited in the Sala Fernando Pessoa of the Consulate General of Portugal in São Paulo. The exhibition proposes a dialogue between the Brazilian Anna Costa e Silva and the Portuguese Fernanda Fragateiro, two artists from different generations, practices and trajectories, who converge in their desires to think beyond the limits of the individual.

The EFG Latin America Art Award, now in its eleventh edition, was created to support the Latin American artists. The award aims to promote the continent's visual arts production and regional fairs among collectors around the world. From the Colombian ARTBO fair, the nominated artist is Federico Ovalles, and from the Brazilian fair SP-Arte, Gustavo Nazareno was nominated for his work “Guiné”.

The City’s Ministry of Culture, together with the Visual Arts area, announced the programming of the Art Week, the event that turns the City into a large open-air contemporary art museum. From October 31 to November 7, more than 35 institutions and spaces in the City of Buenos Aires will be the center of the scene and will invite the public to meet the most innovative works of art, performances, exhibitions, concerts and to enjoy a wide program of activities for all audiences.

Within the Panorama institutional program, this exhibition focuses on aesthetics and artistic practices in and around Barcelona. It comprises a wide range of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, works on paper, video installation, performance, photography and textiles, and is driven by a desire to defend and verify the making of on-site exhibitions as experiences that envelop us as whole sensing bodies in space. As the “notes” of the title suggests, this group exhibition attempts to jot down, to lay out and to connect without seeking to be in any way definitive.

Geometries Reimagined, the title of the inaugural exhibition at the Tanya Brillembourg Art space, inquires the way in which the incessant transformation of the abstract forms imagined since cave art, is once again realized in the works of Colombian Juan Raul Hoyos, Guatemalan Tepeu Choc, and Haitian Marcus Blake. By different means, the three of them confront the form that, since the onset of the 20^th century, generated the whole current of geometric abstraction imposing itself, according to Rosalind Krauss, as "the emblematic image of the modernist ambition" [1]: the grid. Its presence, explicit or tacit, continues to be unraveled and remade incessantly in contemporary art, and it is no stranger to that "schizophrenia" which, as Krauss wrote, arises between its concentration on the materiality of the pictorial surface and the undeniable spiritual tension that its mythical geometry contains [2]. No less is the opposition between the "discursive silence" sought in the grid through the "complete liberation from naturist appearances" [3], and the paradoxical conversion of its geometry form ─inexistent in nature─ into the matrix of urban modernity: Mondrian ended up creating Boogie Woogie, 1943, in allusion to the rhythm and pulsating vibration of New York.

Fabiana Barreda's work, exhibited at BAphoto 2021 at the OdA Arte stand, amalgamates different cases and concepts within the idea of ​​space and the politics of feminism. With references to the great architectures, and to the female body as habitable and inhabiting, subjectivities are called into question and once again photography plays a catalytic role of simultaneous approach and estrangement.

Until February 13^th, 2022, Museo Jumex will present two exhibitions in dialogue; the solo show Sofía Táboas: Gama térmica (Sofía Táboas: Thermal Range), organized by Kit Hammonds, Curator in Chief, and Colección Jumex: Temperatura ambiente (Jumex Collection: Ambient Temperature), curated by the artist Sofía Táboas.

Geneva-based gallery Espace Muraille presents Eamon Ore-Giron: Auto-Tune, the first-ever show of the Los Angeles-based artist in continental Europe. Curated by Valentina Locatelli and developed in close collaboration with the artist, the exhibition gathers eighteen paintings from his ongoing series Infinite Regress, conceived especially for the exhibition in Geneva, and two loom-woven tapestries created in collaboration with the Taller Mexicano de Gobelinos in Guadalajara, Mexico

Es Baluard Museu d'Art Contemporani de Palma exhibits “The Archive of Dust: An Ongoing Project”, an exhaustive overview of the fundamental lines that characterize Elena del Rivero’s (Valencia, 1949) work gravitating around the attacks of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001, in New York. The project deals with loss, the collective memory and pain, as well as with the construction of the existential pillars that make up the beliefs and values ​​of society to rethink the future.

The flows of architecture and circulation in continuous movement set the tone for the new commissioned and individual works that are exhibited now at the Inhotim Institute. There are three projects as the result of almost two years of inactivity, without openings, in the immense space of the cultural center located in Brumadinho, in Greater Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais. It is a mix between a botanical garden and a refuge for contemporary art works specially developed for the institution or that have been reformatted in this special exhibition context that extends over an old estate, now with 140 hectares of visitation.

Curated by Jaider Esbell, and within the context of the 34^th Bienal de São Paulo, the group exhibition Moquém_Surarî gathers contemporary artworks by indigenous artists. The exhibition at MAM São Paulo will include drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures referring to the visual transformations on the cosmological and the narrative Amerindian thinking.

Designed to reflect the various aspects of the current transitional experience, the 7th Athens Biennale ECLIPSE aspires to address the viewers’ imagination of potential parallel worlds and futures. ECLIPSE activates a cross-cultural conversation among artistic voices that have historically been pushed to the periphery and orchestrates an experiential shift in art viewing.

ARTIFACTS is a project curated by researchers Barbara Krulik (US/NL) and Mildred Durán (CO/FR) that revolves around the ubiquity of information and data, and our relationship with them in the contemporary world. It was the winner of the Santa Fe Gallery Network Grant 2021 - Continuous Programming.

In the weeks leading up to the fair and as part of the Media Point 2021 space, an Education Cycle in Contemporary Photography will be scheduled that will consist of three masterclasses led by renowned professionals in the photographic field. With the support of Zurich, BAphoto invites the public to approach photography from different perspectives. Each segment lasts 1 hour and a half, and is accesible via Zoom with prior registration.

Miami-based residency program Fountainhead announced a $100,000 donation in honor of Jane Wesman, an accomplished publicist, art collector and philanthropist who has long supported the organization and its mission. The donation secures funding for The Climate and Environmental Sustainability Residency, which will select three painters whose practice considers climate change as an important subject matter. The residency will launch in April 2022.

It’ll be the third time that BIENALSUR comes to the Brazilian embassy in Buenos Aires, in the imposing Pereda Palace. Starting September 8th, Paula Parisot, the Rio-born artist, will be presenting her exhibition Literatura del yo (“Literature of the self”), curated by Argentinian María José Herrera.

Storefront for Art and Architecture exhibits Something Broke: 2011-Windows-2021, an exhibition by Buenos Aires-based artist Mariela Scafati that presents an installation of hand-painted posters lettered by the artist with her writings and reflections on art, activism, and community. The exhibition, hosted at Storefront’s gallery space in New York, is open until September 15th, 2021.

Invisible Threads, Evelyn Politzer’s solo exhibition at the Miami Dade College Hialeah Art Gallery, curated   by Noor Blazekovic of Irreversible Projects.

Over more than 15 years of history, Galeria Leme has always aimed to promote contemporary art in its multiple scopes, understanding the complexity and constant change that are part of it. It is in this sense that, in 2021, the gallery initiates Leme NFT, a project conceived to produce, promote and commercialize art in NFT format, as well as to develop this still-rising market. The project was launched last Monday, August 16th and its English version can be accessed on their website.

An initiative of the Robert S. Wennett and Mario Cader-Frech Foundation, Y.ES Contemporary creates opportunities for outstanding Salvadoran contemporary artists to advance their artistic practice and engage with artists, curators, collectors, gallerists and the media within and outside El Salvador.
